The Terror of St. Trinians – Timothy Shy and Ronald Searl.
October 30th.
When I was researching The Sinisterhood of Celebrity Psyclones, the prequel to The Prendergast of The Yard Casebooks, my mind wandered to the dark side of girls’ boarding schools . . . St. Trinians.
Although The Terror of St. Trinians spawned a host of classic films, the book is no longer in print. I tracked down a well-thumbed copy online, and must say, I chuckled from start to finish. The story is lightweight, to say the least, but Ronald Searl’s illustrations are pure genius. If you unearth a copy, grab it. Hours of fun are guaranteed.
While you’re at it, why not score a copy of The Sinisterhood of Celebrity Psyclones; The Curious Case of The Swish Swiss Finishing School. A mix of Gothic horror, humour and high jinx, the reviews are blushingly positive.
